2010 Version. Pretty darn good easy drinker, but the 96 distiller score and single barrel label may give too high of expectations. I'd give it a 88. A light touch of caramel/toffee. Definite oak, peanut, and a bit of leather and light fruits and cherry. Pretty well rounded and textbook bourbon. This is in quite a spot in Heaven Hill's own portfolio. Elijah Craig for about the same price gives you some more proof and amped up the woodiness. McKenna SiB/BiB for a few bucks more is an absolute steal. 1783 is a half step down, but gives quite a value proposition for nearly 10 bucks less and same proof. Perhaps a nice readily available compromise. If you like Four Roses Small Batch.. this is worth a try for a change of pace

I had to grow into this one. My initial pour felt very scotch-like. Now, I'm getting more complex sugars and subtle rye, vanilla, mint on my 3rd pour. Halfway through the bottle and it's better than ever. If you get a bottle and don't like it..give it some 'air time' and give it a second opinion. I'm looking forward to seeing some older bottling of this recipe and trying some other products from A.D. Laws

Experiencing neat. Aroma is cherry, green apple, ethanol, smoke, wood. The taste is similar but add a lot of complexity: black cherry, caramel, vanilla, dark chocolate, holiday spices with generous oak and smoke to balance it all out The finish is long with most of the initial flavors staying true to the end. Balanced, complex, delicious, and a steal for what they are selling it around me27.0 USD per Bottle

Rich. Initially overwhelming vanilla, caramel, smoke, wood and heat The initial sweetness is quickly dominated by bitter wood and char. It gets better after a few sips after your bitter buds numb a bit. Only then do the orange and spices show. Much better with a couple drops of water. It cuts the bitter and allows the other flavors to show. Better yet, go with WT 101
