Stewed fruit nose with banana seeping through. Extraordinary smooth and creamy mouth feel. Vanilla is the dominate taste with a burning overtone. This is thin but not offensively so. I can see why this is a value bourbon that is already hard to find. Muted and I might suggest as a starter bourbon.19.95 USD per BottleMcMinnville Liquor Store

Can definitely smell the rye in the nose with some earthy notes. Caramel undertone with a tame rye overtone going to burn of a "Kentucky Hug" followed by a rye finish with some buttery corn mixed in. Very well balanced and excellent. This won't stay $30 for long.30.0 USD per BottleMcMinnville Liquor Store

Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 4, 2020 (edited March 8, 2020)Nose is earthy with a juniper finish. Caramel on the front growing to a spicy burn that finished with flat honey. Better than average and one of the first Four Roses I've enjoyed.10.75 USD per PourFork -
Nose has an allspice overtone and caramel undertone. Spicy overtone in front that burns through the finish. Undertone of oak and a mild hint of dark cooked cherry. Dry mouth feel and the esophagus “hug” common in high proof whiskeys. Subtle cardamom in the finish with brown sugar peaking through. This is complex, big and a damn good bourbon.39.95 USD per Bottle

Big Bottom Barlow Trail Port Cask Finish
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in) Oregon, USA
Reviewed February 12, 2020 (edited April 17, 2021)Spicy nose with honey overtone that already gives hints of raisin. The pallette is raisin through and through. Unique and tasty, but probably not my first reach for a whiskey.11.0 USD per PourJefferson Spirits Medford -
The nose is clearly sour mash, some citrus floral and vanilla notes. The palette leads with a tobacco and woodsy flavor that finishes with banana and orange peel. Sweet undertones are there, but never really break through. A burn carries throughout and lasts beyond the finish. Not bad for an inexpensive Tennessee sour mash, but there are many other sour mashes I would rather drink.

Parker's Heritage Malt Whiskey 8 Year
Other Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 2, 2020 (edited July 25, 2023)Corn, sage, and caramel nose, pretty flat. Oily mouth feel and smooth followed by a healthy burn and spicy finish. Sweet up front and a very satisfying bourbon flavor despite being a malt. Would be a great bourbon if it was possible to find and cheaper.
