2021 release: This is somehow my first Springbank ever, and it absolutely lives up to its reputation. Great balance of peat, Cambeltown funk, and richness. Price was $99, which is a little high; but since the cost for Springbank will likely only increase, glad I could get this before it becomes unaffordable.

Glenlivet 15 Year French Oak Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed March 29, 2022 (edited April 24, 2022)Pleasant and inoffensive. If this were bottled at ~46% it would be really special. As it is, a totally fine and drinkable dram. -
Willett Family Estate Small Batch Rye 4 Year
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 28, 2022 (edited April 12, 2022)Such an amazing rye. On its own, I always get pickle brine, mustard seeds, and dark rye oat flavors. But when head-to-head with other ryes, I get a milky espresso note with milk chocolate. Wonderful, dynamic rye with a ton of depth for a four-year. Pick this up before it becomes another allocated whiskey that’s impossible to find.
