Talisker Distillers Edition
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed December 26, 2018 (edited December 27, 2019)If you have had the regular 10 year old you know it’s amazing. So naturally I was expecting this to be really good. Well it was not really good it was just okay. It is sort of like when someone hypes up a movie a lot and then you see it and are let down, well that’s how I felt. It sort of added this weird note that I can’t quite figure out. Maybe it’s a sour sort of moldy note that is off putting. This is not a horrible whisky but it for sure could have been so much better. Considering how all the other Diageo “Distiller’s Editions” turned out I am disappointed in this one.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Laphroaig 10 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 15, 2018 (edited September 3, 2019)Dirty socks, Band-Aid, kissing a mermaid that ate bbq, wait I am just repeating the commercials sorry about that. I don’t get any of those things. I just get that leather, smoke, rubber and then a hint of sweetness. This is a great everyday peated bottle to always have around the house, if you like peat this is it.45.0 USD per Bottle -
Glenmorangie Signet
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 10, 2018 (edited March 28, 2019)Have you ever put whisky in your chocolate latte?.....Yeah neither have I but you can imagine what that would taste like. Well that’s basically what this bottle is. This has really old barrels in it along with their roasted or “chocolate” malt. It really does have a rich dark coffee/chocolate flavor. With all that and the beautiful packaging this is a great bottle to enjoy during the holidays.....or anytime really.179.99 USD per Bottle -
Don’t judge this one off only one sip. This is one you need to drink a couple oz of before you really unlock its full potential. Not overly complex but the flavors it does have really come through. The finish keeps on going with those ex-bourbon barrels and hint of sherry. For the am 18 year old and price, this is a wonderful pick.89.99 USD per Bottle

Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 27, 2018 (edited July 27, 2019)This bottle deserves a much higher rating. It came into my collection like a 7th round draft pick and ended up rookie of the year. It is destined for the hall of fame. You can really taste the port from the few years it spent in port barrels. You get the sweet wine on the front end and then you get nice wood notes on the back end. This is a 46% whisky and is on the cheap side when it comes to single malts. Don’t tell Glenmorangie but I think they could charge more for this if they wanted to. I am thankful that they don’t.44.99 USD per Bottle -
This is a bold whisky, it’s not shy one bit. It’s like that uncle you have that hits you in the arm when he greets you but then right after gives you a bear hug. You first get the strong peat then follows up with some sweetness but not to much sweetness. It’s a thick oily whisky that doesn’t have the heat you would think coming from a high proof. With everything this whisky has going for it you can’t help but wonder why we buy anything else.64.99 USD per Bottle

Have you ever had a connection with a beautiful stranger then afterwards you think that he/she is the one, then you never see them again. Well this bottle is a limited edition and bottles are going quickly. If you are lucky enough to buy a bottle you better get two because you will never see this beautiful bottle again. This whisky is rich rich rich. This is a whisky that you can really taste the barrel. The finish is long and with a hint of char. It’s a shame they will never make it again.99.99 USD per BottleEuless

You ever have a best friend that had a really annoying younger sibling? Well that’s what this is. I was expecting this to continue on in true Lagavulin tradition of being wonderful but it didn’t. It tasted unfinished, rushed together, lacking in the things that make whisky good. For not much more you can buy the 16 year old. So why would anyone buy this?60.0 USD per Bottle
