Glenfarclas 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 30, 2023 (edited October 6, 2023)Strong dense nose. Great flavor profile with fruits like Plum, Raisin, Pear and Apple. There is a little caramel and butterscotch flavor that weaves in and out and then the finish is nice, elegant and pleasant although it's not super long. -
Bowman Brothers Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Virginia, USA
Reviewed July 23, 2023 (edited November 15, 2023)I thought maybe because of the Buffalo Trace lineage I would enjoy but it is rather dissapointing. -
Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Cask Strength Voyage 27
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed July 4, 2023 (edited October 6, 2023)This is a Top10 store pick from Top Ten Liquors. 112.6 proof. Nose : Sweet smells are reminiscent of a bakery early in the morning. Palate : Caramel, sorghum, molasses, brown sugar and a touch of heat. Finish : Long and peanut brittle forward. Back end is cracked pepper and cinnamon. It is at a very good proof. Nothing extraordinary but it could be a good workhorse as I can see myself getting through this bottle quickly. -
Knob Creek 18 Year Bourbon 30th Anniversary
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 2, 2023 (edited September 24, 2023)Had a pour at a great whiskey bar in Kentucky. Good traditional Knob Creek flavor. The coconut note was a great little twist and I enjoyed the amount of oak and expectations were high being 18 years old. Finish is impressive. If it was higher proof this would be top tier! -
Nose is pure halloween candy corn which is somewhat fun. This is the bright spot though. Palate is showcasing a lot of youth and a baby spit type of thing that is very distracting from the rest of the flavor which brings forward maple, pear and cinnamon. Finish is abrupt but showcases a little sweetness and some more cinnamon sticks flavor. It just isn't my cup of tea.

Booker's Bourbon Batch 2022-02 "The Lumberyard Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 16, 2023 (edited December 28, 2023)I would just look at WhiskeyJug's review for the ideal review on this. I get all the raspberry and peanut flavor inter mingling with each other. Booker's is one of the great pours in my opinion and for some reason works best early spring and on a Sunday afternoon right after church outside on a patio as it begins to warm up. This is traditional Booker and I love it. -
Michter's US*1 Sour Mash Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 9, 2023 (edited May 19, 2023)This has a nose with tons of oak. I also get a little nutmeg and black cherry as others have stated. Palate has some vanilla, oak, butterscotch. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is astringent and a little dry. There is leather, sweet oak and honey spread over hostess white bread with a dash of pepper. The unblended American whiskey blows this away. Wish I would have went with another bottle of that one.
