Tastes

Nose is spicy and rye. Taste is spicy, barley, and rye. Finish has a decent alcohol burn. Very warming. Diluted: nose is raisin and cereal. Taste is mellowed but still quite spicy and rye forward. Finish is smooth. Not very complex, mostly rye taste.

Nose is prune and alcohol. Taste is alcohol, cereal grain, and not much else. Overwhelming alcohol burn. Needs water. Diluted: nose is prune and honey. Complex sweet aroma. Taste is sweet, raisiny, and hints of clove or bitter chocolate. Mouthfeel is good. Finish is still a little harsh.

Almost odorless. Taste is very mild and a little anise forward. Smooth but not my favorite.

Smell is alcohol, honey, and oranges. Taste is blood orange and alcohol and burns on the tongue. Mouthfeel is heavy and pleasant. Finish is bitter. Not my favorite.

Nose is faint. Mostly alcohol with vanilla and cherry. Possibly baked bread slightly. Taste is corn, corn, and corn. Very sweet and mouthfeel is thin. Finish is smooth, brief, and unremarkable. This whiskey is very easy drinking and would be a good base for a ginger highball.

Smells like sherry, raisin, and orange peel. Flavor is an initial blast of sweetness with good mouthfeel. Lots of sherry and fruit with a smooth finish with lingering oiliness.

Nose is sherry and oak. Taste is bright and grassy with good mouthfeel. There is a complex mossy undertone that tastes slightly unpleasant. Finish is long and complex, like sour raisins, and it lingers with bitterness. I can tell it’s a high quality whiskey but the flavor profile is not for me.

Nose is predominately vanilla and oak. Mouthfeel is thin. Initial taste is spicy with cinnamon that turns syrupy. Slightly harsh finish which immediately turns into apples, honey, and more cinnamon. Very fruity, reminds me of an applesauce or apple pie. Great sipper by itself, just wish the finish was milder.

Nose is cinnamon and apple with faint banana. Taste is overwhelming cinnamon and decidedly single noted. Decent whiskey for a highball.

Smells like vanilla and light cinnamon. Light mouthfeel, smooth and a little spicy. Simple taste and very clean. Honey and mild alcohol burn.
