Tastes

Nose: Light sweetness and black pepper. Taste: Very smooth light mouth feel, good sweetness and pepper. Almost no heat due to the low proof. It’s a pretty short finish. I can’t believe the low ratings. If it was $50 it would be a 1.5 or 2 but it’s $10!! Pretty good for bottom shelf stuff.

Nose is incredible caramel and vanilla with some spice. To say it’s complex is an understatement. So many flavors packed in. Lots of spice, cinnamon at the front and it’s got some burn due to the proof. Even though I like Spicy and ryes, the finish feels like the spice has used my tongue as a punching bag. It’s just harsh and not pleasant. It’s the bitter sweet oak/ wood attack at the end that I guess I don’t like.

Very light vanilla smell. Kind of a long burn and nothing really stands out other than a long long tongue burn. For a high rye (which I love) it’s disappointing. Won’t buy it again.

Got a lot of alcohol smell at first after I waited a bit I got a great fruity banana smell. I got lost of oak and still the fruity light banana flavor. I was very pleasantly surprised and a good deal at 30$. Pretty short finish with some acid aftertaste but would definitely get again for a change of pace.

It has a vanilla and caramel smell that is pretty strong. Thick mouthfeel hits you hard with spicy oak and bold rye. It’s got some heat so be ready but not too harsh. Finish is lingering oak and cinnamon. It’s 30% rye so that explains it!

Caramel smell and a great caramel and buttery taste. Smooth for the proof, slight alcohol burn after. Not Smokey or charred tasting.

Great caramel nose but then doesn’t taste much like it smells. I get spicy and fruity flavors and it’s fills the mouth with hot flavor but then settles down and doesn’t burn going down. Reminds me a bit of Ryes.

Smooth but it is a bit lower proof. Got lots of caramel smell and taste with great oak and leather. Didn’t love the strong corn presence though.

It’s basically moonshine. Heavy corn flavor heavy burn. Makes you glad for aging in charred oak barrels!

Nose is cinnamon apple skins to me. Rich mouth feel that is spicy and morphs while tasting it. Definitely has the it factor of the Ryes I love just tastes like the countryside! Sweet that changes to spice in a fairly long finish.
