My first bourbon! It was incredibly sweet coming from scotch. The sweetness was unique to me, not super inviting, but has some potential. The flavors where d ifficult to pick out, strong oak and grain sweetness. Almost seemed grassy compared to scotch. A light spice on the way down. ShanDrawing Room

My first Japanese whiskey, and it was a beaut! A simple blend but mixed sweetness, wood notes, and a mild spice with a hint of smoke. Nose: sweet notes, noticing mixed with a grain whiskey. The wood notes are strong but pleasant. Palate: a sweet and mildly spicy mix of woody flavors and grain sweetness. Finish: smooth, very pleasant and mildly long. A beautiful end to a great night with even better friends!Drawing Room

Talisker 10 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed November 10, 2019 (edited November 26, 2019)A true ocean side, salty and smoky and incredibly balanced! Delicious and cozy, can be just as strong as soft with Mid range peat. Similar style to the Oban 14 but far superior. Nose: salty smoke, followed by sweet and salty Carmel. Palate: friendly and evenly balancing the peat with sweet and salty notes. Finish: Warm and feeling of a pirates of the Caribbean boat on the open sea. Long delicious finish. -
An interesting and enjoyable remix to the classic Glenfiddich recipe. Adding spice and light peat to the sweat traditional vanilla and fruit notes. $0(on the house)/ pour woohoo $50/bottle Nose:sweet fruit, molasses, and nuts. Palate: syrup hits your mouth with super ripe fruit, followed buy a green apple nut mix. The spice and peat show up at the end. Finish: a satisfying peaty/spicy finish, does not linger long but does leave a nice sweet finish on the tongue.Half Day Brewing Company

Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 1, 2019 (edited December 27, 2019)A sweet and savory dram suitable for any and every occasion! Nose: honey/sherry sweetness, light pleasant spice. Palate: sugar, almost like honey, sherry, and molasses had a baby. Fresh fruits and nuts. Finish: spice only on the swallow. Sweet, decently bog finish, with nuts and fruit staying longest. A true crowd pleaser! $70/bottle70.0 USD per Bottle -
First Irish whiskey, clearly the most widely available and famous one. But also a ground level, whiskey. Nothing here drew my attention. The flavors were not my cup of tea. Very sweet, but more tart and bitter. Nose: a not inviting sugar. Grassy Palate: same first note as the smell. A awkward sweetness that was almost bitter in a weird fruity way. Honey was present with cut grass, is a weird note I picked up. Finish: to be honest kind of felt like rotting cut grass on the way down. Did have a soft spice finish that was nice on the swallow. Pour/free (Open bar), bottle/$2323.0 USD per Bottle

A classic easy sipper. Soft all the way around was pleased to taste raisin sweetness mixed with the dominant vanilla note this time around. Complimented a camp fire deliciously and s’mores as well! Nose: soft vanilla Palate: still soft, lead by vanilla, succeeded by raisins, and finish with a friendly smoke on the way out. Finish: medium in length but soft just enough smoke at the end to keep you coming back for more. $20/pour, $62/bottle62.0 USD per Bottle

My first world class scotch. A multilayered campfire of smoke vanilla and pure tranquility. Nose: smoke, campfire in a glass. Palate: smoky, but a soft, balanced sweat/salty beginning. Transitions to a smoky spice and a delicious campfire swallow. Smooth on the way down and spicy on the breath. Finish: slow, peaceful. Lovely. $26/pour, $92/bottle26.0 USD per PourHugo's Frog Bar & Fish House

Simple and classic the Glenfiddich 12 lives up to its name as a simple but tasty entry level scotch that is good but nothing astounding. Side note had this whole salsa dancing so didn’t have much opportunities to really sit and ponder this scotch. Nose: green fruit, easy to access and soft. Palate: fruity, simple, some nuts. Finish: short to medium, nothing to write home about but nothing to be ashamed either. $12/pour, $36/bottle12.0 USD per PourDylans Tavern & Grill
