On the nose this comes off as a slightly more complex (due to the port finish I can only assume) bourbon but nothing extremely impressive. You get the slight oak, sweet (very sweet), and a bit of caramel and maple if you really try for it. Of course, the typical bourbon "nail polish remover" smell is present. On the palate you are greeted immediately by oak, spices, and sweet yet dark chocolate. If you were to add a bit more sugar to a 72% cacao bar I think that would replicate it well. Oak lingers on the palate for a few moments (longer than most bourbons) and remains sweet throughout the whole experience. Overall it is one of my favorite bourbons. I am very picky on bourbon i may note but angels envy has made itself welcome on my shelf.

sweet fruits. citrus. oranges and tangerines. I get some very distinct vanilla on the nose but no so much on the palate. strong typical nail polish remover smell almost overburdens the other smells. very sweet the moment it touches your tongue. a treat for the right price. I was blessed to find the 10 year for 12 a pour while staying in vegas. absolute treat for that. the bottle was on sale for 300 but i had to pass. grabbed a macallan 18 for 10 dollars as well. very reasonably priced pours at treasure island resort.

smoke from the barrel, peat, oak. fresh oak. earthy. not heavy smoke on the nose but the pest truly hits when you sip it. I feel back in an autumn Forrest from my hometown when I sip this dram. perhaps the smoke of laphroig or talisker. not quite ardbeg or laguvulin. but the orange citrus if a buffalo trace

had this along with a few other samples when I was in Scotland training with the royal Marines. we hiked Ben Nevis and got to tour the distillery. Absolutely lovely. I found the 10 year in particular to be fruity and with a small but noticeable hint of smoke. I would also recommend a few drops of water to really open up all the tastes
