Lagavulin 16 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 28, 2019 (edited December 30, 2019)I’m not a fan of peated whisky but I got a bottle of this as a Christmas present. The flavours are immense. For my palate the smoky peat is too strong to clearly identify the different flavours but it’s a smooth and complex flavour that I’ve no doubt fans of pear will truly appreciate. Very smooth too. -
Glenlivet 18 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 16, 2019 (edited November 19, 2019)Some very strong flavours of earthy, woody spice and a fruity finish. However the lack of smoothness makes this hard to enjoy and slightly too complex to appreciate any of the specific characteristics. It’s like the bass and treble have both been turned up and you can’t hear either clearly.
