Tastes

1 cube, generous pour. Nose: good balance of rawest grape or apricot fruit, some chocolate, wheat / honey nut cheerios. Not much spice (see proof), not much oak, not extremely complex or bold. Not really getting the mint others are. Palate: short to moderate finish. Pretty smooth, with hint of red hot candy spice while it lasts. Sweet throughout though.

1 cube Nose: apricot, no spice, slight sweet tobacco. Palate: smooth, sweet ripe black cherry! Not very complex but a good drink. Mild to moderate spice and short finish.

Nose: sweet heath bar or toffee, some creme brûlée possibly. Not a lot of fruit, maybe hint of banana or strawberry angel food cake. Palate: so good. Sweet cinnamon bread, moderate length finish, not too spicy given the proof. Chocolate Rolos caramels, lots of different good variations. Arguably better, certainly more bold than Blanton’s.

1 cube Nose: wheaty nose, like milky caramel. Not my personal favorite but distinct for sure. Graham cracker and toffee Palate: good spice, long finish, maybe some cinnamon red hots but hard to get anything else out of it.

Neat Nose: not the most critical nose. But notes of sweetness and wheat.. some chocolate too after adjusting. Palate: amazing palate, over adjusts itself in complexity! Chocolate, raspberries, full bodied, long finish on one hand. Try again and I got tooti fruity dip n dots or multi flavor fruit punch jam. Really good.

1 ice cube Nose: good, caramel nose. Sweet Cheerios with some sweet fruit, cherries maybe. Palate: good complexity, oak wood carries, mild to moderate spice, mid length finish, black cherries or cinnamon apple pie. Super smooth.

Neat start, improved with small water back. Nose: amazing nose, complex fruit bouquet, hints of caramel and that chocolatey Honey Nut Cheerios or toasted amaretto. Palate: excellent spice, super good complexity, red hot candy on front and tastes how fresh cut pine or hardwood smells - in a good way. Not much fruit, long finish, with light sweet level not overwhelming but stays thru the finish. Batch 01-2011, 8 years 6 months old

Nose: sweet..orange peel. Smallest hint of artificial banana that I don’t like. Otherwise a shallow nose. Palate: smooth, low in complexity low in spice, maybe fraction of tobacco but.. not bad but nothing jumps out. Maybe cherry, so fruit overwhelms any chance of others

Nose: good chocolate cherries, Palate: above average, good spice but slightly oily and fruity. 2 ice cubes, try less. Did not improve flavor.

Nose: similar to blantons, good chocolate nutty cereal or toasted Cheerios. Complex. Tobacco. Palate: more boring palate than the nose. Not as rich or fun or complex as single Barrel
