Tastes

Nose has an oak to it, as well as that typical rye spice. Palate is spicy, with a sweet floral note. There is a slight herbal not that carries into the finish, that continues with the spice and sweetness. At the price point and the availability, this rye truly is unbeatable.

Corn completely dominates the nose. The palate initially tastes of grain. Corn and wheat prevail, with a slight sweetness. Finish is short, with the slightest spice. Pretty simple, and a bit boring. A tasty drink, but I wouldn’t actively seek it out.

Nose has some cherries as well as carmel. Palate is oily, with cherry carrying over from the nose. There is a also a hint of chocolate, with spice carrying into the finish. A good dram at a great price.

A sweet palate, no doubt a result of the rum cask finish. A good start, however in the finish I pick up a strong herbal not. Almost a mint. A little too overpowering for me. Not my cup of tea, but others will love it.

Sweet and smooth. Not overly complex. You definitely get the dryed fruit from the port barrel finish. A delicious choice.

Fruit and sweet. A hint of vanilla. Some bite to it for sure. It’s age shows.
