Dark color. Nose is a sweet woody vanilla. Light chocolate smell comes through after it breathes for a bit. The sip coats with a thick sweet smokey honey. Aftertaste is very nice and little if any alcohol burn after. Sweet all the way through. Getting a nice maple syrup blueberry pancake taste after a bit. Have to think the second barrel kicked some life into the standard woodford reserve flavor and turned up all the notes way up. Dessert bourbon. All the notes are sweet so it’s great for that style. Overall it’s damn good. Glad I took a shot on this one. $50 bottle is worth the cost.50.0 USD per Bottle

Nose is a very sweet honey with a little bit fruity apple mix. Consistency is lighter than expected and really doesn’t coat the mouth, but the flavor does bring in a cinnamon and slight burn after a second. Tastes like a nice sweet fruity bread on the aftertaste. Some water opens up an apple pie with cherry flavor as well. Excellent overall with several layers that open up a few at a time.

Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch A122
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 9, 2022 (edited April 18, 2022)Mmmm. The nose is a warm sweet chocolate bakery scent. Hits the tongue with an apple pie and mellow vanilla. Sort of bitter fruit aftertaste that lingers and gets sweet after a few seconds. Long aftertaste. Needs an ice cube or two to mellow the intense barrel flavor, but great flavor throughout. Sweet wheated bourbon.55.0 USD per Bottle -
Drinking straight out of glencairn glass. The nose is a sweet fruit and a brown sugar mix. Hits the tongue and adds a sweet red sherry flavor with a little bitter fruit. Definitely a maple syrup in there too. It’s a honey and oak aftertaste that sticks around for a decent while. This is a great bottle but might be too sweet for some. Just right for me. Excellent.

Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 6, 2022 (edited March 27, 2022)Straight with a few cubes of ice. Sweet nose with a warm vanilla flavor. Hits with a toffee and chocolate flavor after a second and then goes to a classic cherry bourbon taste. Nice warming but not burning. You taste a few other levels very lightly but I can’t really grasp what’s there other than to say it’s all good. Comes together well. Great sip all the way through. Complex.40.0 USD per Bottle -
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 9, 2022 (edited January 16, 2022)Bottle C921. Dark amber color. Before you even sip you see how thick and oily the consistency is. The nose is a sweet and oaky mix but very little hot alcohol smell. It’s all sweet, dark syrup. First sip is intense. Smokey dark apple and honey. Sticks around for a while and mellows out gradually. A little burn in there. A little water mixed in and it definitely opens up another layer with vanilla and a dark cherry. You taste every year it was in the barrel and they’re all great. Sip slow and enjoy. It’s got some flavor in there that I can’t place but damn if it isn’t a great journey.70.0 USD per Bottle -
Heaven Hill Bottled In Bond 7 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 26, 2021 (edited January 17, 2022)Another very good to nearly great Heaven Hill offering. It’s actually on the lighter side. The nose is a sweet caramel apple. On the mouth there’s more of the same with a smooth vanilla to mix with the up front sweet. I felt like it was more welcome and wanted it to stick around longer but the finish was a little too short. It’s a very solid bottle. Good for a nice easy sip. -
Willett Pot Still Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 24, 2021 (edited August 10, 2022)Sweet all the way through. Strong nose with deep vanilla and sweet apple. Mouth brings in caramel and toffee twist. Fruity taste in there as well. No burn on the aftertaste. All over good bottle. -
Sweet woody cherry pie taste on the nose and up front. The heat is there but balanced by a sweet fruit. Very well balanced. After there’s an awesome maple honey that lingers for a decent time. It’s definitely one of the sweeter bottles I’ve had. Consistency is like a smooth syrup. Fantastic bottle at a great price.35.0 USD per Bottle

Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 11, 2021 (edited January 22, 2022)Mmmmm bourbon. Classic sweet tasting bottle. Nose is sweet apple with a savory vanilla mixed in. Thick consistency. Covers the mouth and has a cinnamon twist as you nurse it. Aftertaste lingers for a few moments and has a fruity hazelnut flavor. It might not live up to the reputation but it’s an excellent bottle. The price wasn’t too crazy, and although I’ve had better bourbon at a cheaper price I’m very satisfied at this investment. Great bottle for the collection but not sure I’ll ever get the complete group of horse bottle tops. Oh well. Cheers!60.0 USD per Bottle
