Tastes

Very nice nose of leather, oak, baking spices, caramel and vanilla. The palate is a little thinner that I had hoped for, but many of the notes I picked up on the nose carried forward nicely. It's not hot for the proof, but the finish is long with loads of cinnamon. The finish is where this dram shines.

I like the price. Otherwise, meh.

This is a delicious pour. Notes of oak and silky vanilla on the nose. The mouthfeel is coating and smooth with lots of creamy chocolate and vanilla. The finish is a tad short but there is very little heat for the proof. One of the best bourbons of 2017. Excellent edition to the Parker's Heritage lineup.

Cinnamon spice caramel and honey on the nose followed by a pallet of vanilla cookie and red candy. The palate is very sweet. The finish is nice with rye spice and more candy sweetness. This is definitely sweeter than Blanton's. Very enjoyable.

Wild Turkey 101 does not get the credit it deserves. If ever there was a flavor profile that captured the essence of bourbon, this is it. It's tobacco, leather, oak, vanilla and caramel all rolled into one. It's not a great whiskey, but it is just plain good. I'll drink this any day.
