Tastes

Surprisingly mellow bouquet. First taste: SO smooth, delicious thick mouthfeel with a honey like consistency. Flavor is like a spicy syrup with notes of wood and cinnamon. Long, lingering fire continues to fill the senses. A definite keeper.

Nose is very smooth, lots of maple syrup,but very mild. First sip: almost no spice or burn, very thin flavor. Second sip: lots of butter, thicker flavor, delicious coating in the mouth. Ah, there's the burn... Took waaay too long, and lingers a little, but I expected it to hang out longer for juice of this proof. It's fine, very approachable, but this is a well Bourbon at best.

Nose is peppery and strong, with maple notes. Sweet/spicy in the initial taste, with thin body. For a while, nothing on the tongue, but the burn comes out after a good 30 seconds. Second sip favors a more mellow smokiness, quickly followed by the heat, then both fade, and then there's that crazy return of the heat. A slight saltiness, but it fades fast. A good everyday companion.

Spicy, full, complex. Starts a little medicinal with a minimal nose, but bursts into rich smokiness. The sweetness starts about halfway through, then lightens, but the burn increases. Very good, but not great... But a competitive offer to Two Stars or any basic, good Kentucky Bourbon.

Got it on a one day deal for far less than normal, so I jumped at it. Like a much more rich, robust Maker's Mark with a smoother finish and full mouthfeel.

Very complex, lots of spice on the initial taste and finish. A little light on the caramel, but sweet without being overly so. Great flavor for the cost.

On first sip, almost salty that slowly mellows to a light honey. The burn is almost slightly delayed, but it stays strong for a long time, until it dissapates into a round mouthfeel. The interesting thing is the residual saltiness coats the top of the mouth; unexpected. Not much of a bouquet that I noticed. Definitely a less complex Bourbon, but the long lingering heat and odd salty/sweet combo makes it worth a taste.

Great packaging. Taste starts off with high burn, and undertones of maple syrup. Lots of pepper, then goes to a thin, mild flavor. Kind of a disappointment, given the packaging: I wanted bold, strong flavor, but it was pretty unremarkable, with an unmatching spice.

Definitely medicinal with major heat. Smooth, but not a lot of depth. Slight molasses aftertaste, but quickly turns to citrus, then back to medicinal. Definitely a hot take.

Fruity aroma, with undertones of maple syrup. Smooth, with very little burn. Notes of cinnamon, honey. Delicious, light, and tingly.
