Old Ezra 7 Year Barrel Strength Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 28, 2023 (edited July 15, 2023)Value for money, I give it that. It's hot with or without water, but water certainly opens it up. People describing it as "smooth" must have a different batch. It lacks any oiliness, or fullness. That said, it's a pretty good barrel proof Bourbon. Lots of brown sugar and vanilla, with a lingering spiciness that will appeal to many. -
Laird of Fintry Single Malt Cask Strength
Single Malt — Vernon, British Columbia, Canada
Reviewed April 15, 2023Really nice. Not too hot, I like drinking this neat. The pallette is a flood of fruit and honey. Very good. -
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 18, 2023 (edited November 28, 2023)I can't imagine Bourbon getting much better that this. Rich, full, and a little oily. The mouth feel is perfect. Doesn't come in too hot and is very easily tamed with an ice cube or a few drops of water. The caramel and vanilla is really excellent. It has a little leather in there too.86.0 USD per Bottle -
Kurayoshi 18 Year Pure Malt
Blended Malt — Multiple Countries
Reviewed March 16, 2023 (edited April 27, 2024)When tasting any 18 year old whiskey there are expectations. This falls short. Its very good, but just lacks character. It's not memorable in any particular way. Certainly a nice dram, but I'd be upset if I paid for a bottle.
