Bourbon — Kentucky, USATastedIt lives up to the hype. Rich and a little oily. Initially vanilla and caramel, but then layers of chocolate orange and a little leather. Very pleasant!
Springbank 10 Year
Peated Single Malt — Campbeltown, ScotlandTastedThere's a lot going on for a 10 year old. Fruity and smokey. There's a lot to love here.
Writers' Tears Copper Pot
Blended — IrelandTastedRed apple nose. Cream and vanilla on the pallette. Bolder than Red Breast 12, but probably not as smooth.
Michter's US*1 Sour Mash Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Kentucky, USATastedWhere this ends up is somewhere unique. The combination of Bourbon and Rye gives something rich, full, and spicy.
Alberta Premium Cask Strength
Canadian — Alberta, CanadaTastedDill pickle on the nose. Rich and full. Lots of honey and vanilla. There's a real complexity here that takes some time to pull apart. Definitely a winner.
Auchentoshan 21 Year
Single Malt — Lowlands, ScotlandTastedVery good, but too pricey. It's like a smokey Bourbon.
Nikka Whisky From the Barrel
Blended — JapanTastedBlind taste. Green apple on the nose with a hint of smoke. Red apple on taste with smoke and leather. A little raisin too. Thought this was an Irish whiskey. Very smooth even with a higher proof.
1792 Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USATastedIt's a good choice, but just a bit sharp. Sweet and flavourful.
