Tastes

This is one of the best peated Scotches that I've ever had. I'm not always a fan of the smoke, but this delivers so many layers of flavour along with that smoke that it hard not to appreciate. I really enjoy this.

Really nice. Not too hot, I like drinking this neat. The pallette is a flood of fruit and honey. Very good.

Superb! Rich and fruity with a really nice vanilla.

Definitely a step up from the 9. I wish the price was a little closer. Very rich and oaky.

I can't imagine Bourbon getting much better that this. Rich, full, and a little oily. The mouth feel is perfect. Doesn't come in too hot and is very easily tamed with an ice cube or a few drops of water. The caramel and vanilla is really excellent. It has a little leather in there too.

When tasting any 18 year old whiskey there are expectations. This falls short. Its very good, but just lacks character. It's not memorable in any particular way. Certainly a nice dram, but I'd be upset if I paid for a bottle.

This is a reasonably good Irish. Drinkable, affordable, and generally pretty good. It's not Red Breast 12.

This seems underrated here. This is a nice Irish. It's got a buttery, vanilla thing going on. Not too sharp, with a little fruity pallette.

In a word... Mediocre. Overpriced for what it is.

Nose is quite different, I get a nutty note there. Very dark colour. Smooth and could be drank neat, but opens up with a little water. My issue is with the price. Same as Aberlour A'bunadh, which I'd choose over this any day.
