Wow. This is a fantastic rum with lots of bourbon notes from the casks. At 62% ABV, it’s got plenty of backbone and will only get better as you sip it over ice. If you’re trying to convince a whiskey snob to try high end rum - this is a great bet.

I really expected a lot from this rum based on reviews and am disappointed after trying it three-four separate times. The rum is great on the nose and initial taste, but I get almost nothing on the mid-palate and finish - it’s like the rum just disappears. It’s not a bad rum, but nowhere close to the Zacapa 23 or Diplomatico Reserva I’ve been sipping lately.

Really nice floater on a pina colada, but not a sipper.
