Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed March 21, 2020 (edited June 28, 2020)Nose: combination of pear, rubber cement, and a hint of vanilla Palate: Smokey and peppery orange jelly Finish: canned pear, light brine and a bit of heat This is one of the most unique drams I have had. I am excited to drink more of this to capture some of the subtle flavors in this one. -
Nose: first it comes off as sweet, rich sherry. The richness never goes away, but once you burst through you get light bits of woody vanilla and ripe banana. Palate: immediately hit with holiday drink spiciness and sherry flavors. Finish: tannins dry your mouth, spice moves to the back of your throat and the sherry powers through all the way to the end. Adding water rounded the nose, but actually made the palate more hot than before.
