Tastes

The first few sips tasted quite spicy and left a smokey aftertaste. While I held it in my mouth I felt the cinnamon notes. For a second try i added 3 drops of tap-water and BOOM! All the flavours and aromas surfaced! Every sip hit me with a different ingredient. The first taste and scent I experienced was the chocolate. It was there and it was full. The bitterness of the dark chocolate combined with the sweetness of the whiskey elevated every sip. It was a great experience tasting such a superb quality product.

On the nose, there is a sour scent reminding red fruits. On the palate it the taste of vanilla is dominating, leaving you with a sweet taste. The finish is a bit woody, leaving the taste of walnuts. It is a pretty pleasant drink. I would taste again.

In the nose, the proof is very intense at first. When I got used to the aroma of the proof, the scent of honey stood out. On the palette side, again the honey stood out, accompanied by a creamy taste.

Tasted intensely the vanilla and very slightly the caramel notes. After turning the sip with my tongue, the bitterness of oranges in the back of my mouth. On the scent side, it left a herbal and spicy aroma. At all times I tasted and smelled something very familiar, but could not locate it. After searching it up, every sip reminds something of cola! The sweetness of cola hit me in every sip, accompanied by a spicy essence or taste.

I smelled the essence of honey and definitely the aroma of apples and a small dose of sweetness. On the tasting, I surely tasted the roasted nuts. It is a smooth and creamy whisky. On the finish, remains a vanilla taste which uplifts the general tasting.

It was a pleasure glass of whisky. The taste of brine was intense, hitting you on every sip. The smoky flavour comes right after, completing the tasteful sip!

I got as a present a whisky tasting calendar with 25 bottles, 30ml each (this is the reason i do not mention a price). The batch of Talisker 10 contained in the calendar was campfire peaty both on the nose and in taste. Also, there was some salty smell in the background. (P.S. being new to 🥃 tasting, I do not have a big pallete yet). (P.S. 2 I am not such a fan of smokey whiskies).
