Pretty light, simple and subtle, but really nothing to dislike. Light honey notes, definitely some vanilla and woody barrel character. Just a touch harsh, but mostly a balance issue due to the light body. Good value for an Irish whiskey but here in Canada you can find better ryes at a lower price.40.0 CAD per Bottle

A mostly neutral rye whisky that would do just fine as a mixer, but on its own this is a bit harsh and has some slight medicinal notes that I don't love. An interesting hint of maple, presumably from being finished in maple casks. I see how this makes a good base for the Sortilège maple liqueur but won't be drinking it on its own.

While I don't believe the "elementally aged" aspect to be anything more than an expensive gimmick, this is still a very nice whiskey, especially at the price point. Rich and oaky with some sweetness, vanilla and caramel, slightly spicy, classic and balanced. Everything I want in a nicer rye and good enough to sip neat.39.99 CAD per BottlePortage & Burnell Liquor Mart

This is an odd one. On the nose, vanilla and oak, a little hot but mostly pleasant. Taste carries some of the same up front, but has a pronounced medicinal note that throws this off and makes it hard to drink on its own. I do think this would work well in mixed drinks with other strong flavours or a lot of sweetness, as it provides a stronger dose of the classic rye and oak notes... But alone, I wouldn't drink it again.

Some nice notes here of caramel, vanilla, oak, and leather up front. Hint of coconut, touch of sweetness. A bit harsh and hot near the end. At $34 CAD (in Manitoba), I think this is a decent value and would work well in rye-forward cocktails, but is a little harsh and simple to enjoy neat as a sipper.33.99 CAD per BottleMadison Square Liquor Mart
