Tastes

This is my very favorite single malt. I have gone through many a bottle. Smoky peaty smooth just wonderful.

Been a while since I had this and since I ran out in my home bar, that can only mean I adored it. :)

Petty and campfire. Did a tasting with 3 of my on-hand Islay single malts and this was the most earthy campfire of the much. I have had in a cocktail which again highlights the smoke. Wait, have I said smoke??

Islay. Peaty. Smoky. Yummy. One of my favorites.

This is the bourbon that started me in bourbons. I enjoy the spicy smokiness. I tend to drink it on the rocks versus neat -- not smooth enough.

I tried this neat as a tasting with a friend along with 1792 Ridgemont and Watershed (a local distiller). This one was by far the easiest drinking and my favorite. Very easy drinking and full bodied.

This bourbon came highly recommended. I tried Neat with friends. It was better with water/ice but not sure I would seek it out.

I bought a bottle forgetting that I am not a fan of WF, having tried several versions. But others are fans, so hopefully they will enjoy. I have also found the doubled oaked to handle cocktails nicely.

I first tried this in 2014 on the rocks, and while I enjoyed it, it was nothing to write home about or seek out.

Did this as part of a bourbon tasting with friends. Only one person did not like it. For the rest of us it was good, easily drinkable neat, and reminded several people of what their dad would drink. I picked up a bottle, and I think it will be a lovely serviceable bourbon for Tuesday nights.
