A little malt honey and raisins, some of those familiar Macallan floral notes. Apples and a fair amount of cinnamon and black pepper. Sherry is not prominent at all. Nicer bite than I expected. Short oaky finish. Overall: nice but boring.

Simple. Sweet. Oaky. Slight sour and almost sulfuric note. I suppose it’s reasonable to use as a mixer but mostly just unrefined. Reasonably proced for what it is but otherwise belies the VSOP designation. I wont ever reach for this if I am looking for a sipper.

Worst batch of Booker’s of the 20+ I’ve tried. So much licorice and anise. None of the typical notes of vanilla and peanut brittle you’d expect from a Booker’s. Just because it’s different, doesn’t mean it’s tasty.
