Cinnamon moonshine from a new distiller local to Franklin Pennsylvania. This corn whiskey is diluted to 35% ABV so it is very smooth with almost no bite. The cinnamon flavor is a great balance of sweet and spicey. Color is clear and un-aged with the cinnamon flavor settled to the bottom, shaking required for this small batch moonshine!

Old Camp Peach Pecan Whiskey
Flavored Whiskey — USA
Reviewed December 20, 2019 (edited October 15, 2020)Now that’s a shooting whiskey. Flavor is right on; peach and pecan with some syrupy sweetness. Not for sipping but good for shooting and probably makes a mean mixed drink. -
The Faber brand is a Pennsylvania distillery making gin, vodka, and rum. I am unsure of its availability outside of Pennsylvania, but as a local it is available everywhere. Nose is heavy juniper with a touch of sharpness and orange sherbet. Taste is juniper, orange and lemon citrus, a touch of bitterness, some up front heat and a lingering sweet juniper finish. The sweetness is likely due to the use of corn spirit as the base. Overall this is a decent supper although it shines in cocktails. Most expensive gins with more creative and subtle flavors are lost in cocktails or are prone to off notes. Faber’s Gin is an affordable classic that behaves like a classic gin in all cocktails.15.0 USD per Bottle

First off this is a delicious after dinner drink and a large break from my whiskey heavy past month. Nose is rich with baking spices; allspice, clove, and nutmeg. Paired with a bit of ethanol adds a touch of burn to the nose. The taste is also heavy with baking spices. Viscous, bittersweet, and perfectly spiced. Finish is lingering spice giving way to a balanced bittersweet. I am looking forward to getting this into cocktails.

Laphroaig 10 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 21, 2019 (edited December 28, 2019)The laphroaig 10 is opening up more as I dive deeper into the bottle. Nose is still heavy with smoke but is getting a honey sweetness and stone fruit in it. Palate is the smokey, brine, iodine if before but is also showing more sweetness. Still a wonderfully peaty pour. -
