Enjoying my new bottle of Wild Turkey 101. Rare Breed is my favorite bourbon so I had high hopes for this one. It delivers a toned down version which is what I was hoping for. I'm getting something that I associate with eucalyptus on the taste with spice and sweetness. The aftertaste is quite long and spicy. A solid bourbon in my book!

Connemara Original Peated Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed July 4, 2020 (edited August 3, 2020)The nose is bright sweet pear, vanilla and soft peat smoke. The mouth is sweet, floral, vanilla and herbal(?) peat. Aftertaste slowly goes from sweet to peaty with some hints of anise and finishing of pleasingly spicy. This is really good! -

Talisker 15 Year (2019 Special Release)
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed May 31, 2020 (edited September 17, 2022)The nose is very maritime, like a sea spray and maybe some seaweed, mixed with quite bright citrus and some vanilla. I might have been hallucinating but I could swear I smelled some dark roasted coffee beans as well. The peat is there but quite muted. The taste initially punches you in the mouth with the high ABV then turns briny and sort of citrus and lemon zest in character with the freshly charred oak hogsheads showing up and gradually fades into the peat that is rounding it of. The aftertaste is long and pleasant. Opened up a lot with about a teaspoon of water to 4 cl pour, much more fruit and sweetness shows up on the taste and the nose becomes more lemon and citrus. This is potent whisky presented at cask strength, matured in freshly charred American oak hogsheads. It is a Talisker for sure but not at all what I am familiar with in the regular 10 year old!1249.0 SEK per Bottle -
This is a home run for me, my favorite Ardbeg so far and easily in my top 5. The nose promises peaty smoke and hints of sweetness. The mouth delivers something very viscous, briny, meaty and wonderfully peppery sweetness. Aftertaste is spicy, smokey and sweet. This just hits all my buttons the right way.870.0 SEK per Bottle

Caol Ila 15 Year Unpeated Style (2018 Special Release)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed May 1, 2020 (edited May 10, 2020)The nose is light and fruity with vanilla and citrus, the mouth is quite briny and sweet and spicy. The aftertaste is quite long and turns a bit lemony and honey with spice. It is a very nice sip! Caol Ila feels like an overlooked gem on Islay(?), don't miss out :) Edit: Upping the score to 4.5 as this bottle is coming to an end, the don't miss out recommendation stands!1199.0 SEK per Bottle
