Nose : Sweet and rich, the malt takes its place, which is expected from a 60% ABV. Adding quite a bit of water makes the nose more whole. Taste : Quite soft for the ABV, but the alcohol taste is present. Adding quite a bit of water makes the taste more whole, giving more place to the fruity side. Finish: The finish is fruity and lengthy, the taste will stays for tens of seconds after swallowing.

Bottled at 46%, so with a good taste intensity. Nose : Sweet and fruity. A touch of vanilla. Taste : Fruits are omnipresent. Passion fruit, oranges, citrus and peach, amongst others, cohabit with each other to make a great balanced taste! Finish : Smooth finish, where the fruits let place to vanilla and a touch of smoke. A great bottle with an interesting balance!

Nose : Interesting nose. Sweet, Vanilla, Citrus, Apple. Taste : Very different from the nose. The apples are still there, but combined with a bit of iode. Finish : Particular, there is none, as the taste stays constant, then disappears without leaving anything else. Not bad, but surprising.

Nose : Vanilla stands out, followed by floral and fruity (especially plum) elements. Taste : Pretty classic. Mellow, a bit of fruit and spice. Finish : Quite alcoholy, with a bit of vanilla. Disappointing finish. Not bad for an entry-level scotch, but there is much better fir the same price.

A Lagavulin close to the classic taste of the Lagavulin, but less powerful and less smoky. Interesting, but for only 20$ less than the Lagavulin 16, it doesn’t gets out enough of the lot for me.

A powerful taste! In the same ranges of the Lagavulin 16, but with a much smokier and heavy finish. A touch of water is a welcome finish to balance it a bit more! Do not try as a first scotch of the night.

A classic to have in every collection!! Nose : Heavy peat and smoke, but then reveals a touch of vanilla and fruits. Taste : Surprising taste of smoke and meat (almost bacon), that is quite unique in his genre. Finish : Quite balanced, not too smoky, not too sweet.

Nose : The nose is quite powerful. Seasalt abd peat smoke mix together nicely. A feint scent of fruit is present, but stands out in the long run. Taste : Mainly peat and malt, with a touch of salt and oak. Particularly smooth for 57% ABV. Adding a touch of water brings out the salt and the malt. Finish : Long and smooth. Smoke is the main element. Adding a bit of water makes it malty and spicy a bit also.

One of the best scotch I have tasted. Well balanced, with a constant taste from start to finish. In mouth, the salted caramel taste is pretty unique. A must-have in any collection!
