Arran Single Malt The Sherry Cask Finish
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed May 24, 2019 (edited January 1, 2020)Nose : Fruits (pear, apple, lemon) are at the forefront, followed by vanilla. The alcool is strong in the nose, tingling at bit. Taste : Pretty oaky and malty, with a bit of lemon peel. Finish : Finish is not too long, with an importance on the lemon. Good bottle, but it feels too young at the taste. -
Nose : Strong scent of apple and vanilla. Taste : The taste is much less sweet than the nose. Oak and malt is pretty present, which is then sweetened a bit by citrus. Finish : Smooth, good length. Pretty malty. A nice bottle, but I would have liked a bit more complex taste.76.0 CAD per BottleSAQ Sélection

Octomore 09.1 Dialogos
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed May 10, 2019 (edited October 23, 2019)Nose : You can’t miss the peat smoke at the first scent, which is the trademark of Octomore. When extending the sniff, it is possible to distinguish the sweetness of vanilla. Taste : A journey of senses. Intense peat smoke, followed by sea water, and after sweet vanilla. Intense and dry, but smooth for 59% ABV. Finish : the finish is long, pretty long. Peat is present, than smooth oak. Adding a touch of water balances the peat with the rest, leaving place for sweet citrus, even faint caramel. An experience!! Need to try!29.0 CAD per PourPub L'Île Noire -
GlenDronach Original 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed May 10, 2019 (edited November 25, 2019)Nose : Strong fruity (cherry) and sweet nose. Powerful vanilla scent, a little bit of almonds. Taste : Sweet, a distinct taste of caramel. The PX cask makes a particular and interesting taste. The oak and malt don’t give their place either. Finish : Smooth, fruit, vanilla. Quick, doesn’t stay long. A good scotch, with a decent price! I recommend as an everyday bottle!1050.0 CAD per PourPub L'Île Noire -
Nose : A classic apple start for a Glenffidich, that then turns mainly to vanilla. Nose is a little bit spiced, but it is very subtle. Taste : It is quite surprising how the nose and the taste can be different. The notes of vanilla completely disappear, to make place to a strong oak taste. Apples are still present. Finish : Smooth, lengthy, oaky with notes of almonds. Good scotch, but I am off put by the difference between nose and taste. I really like the nose, but the taste is a little bland compared to the nose.14.0 CAD per PourPub L'Île Noire

Kilchoman Sanaig (2016 Edition)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed May 5, 2019 (edited June 11, 2019)Nose : An interesting balance between peat, at first, followed by fruit. Good presence of citrus. Taste : The peat of the nose gives place to a complex composition. Caramel, citrus, chocolate and oak mix with peat to give a memorable taste! Finish : Mostly peat, but smooth and lengthy. Even without an age statement, this natural colored non-chill filtered scotch is a great addition to any collection, and a good smooth introduction to peated scotches!110.0 CAD per BottleSAQ -
Nose : pretty fruity, citrus with ginger. Sweet, not too powerful. With a ting of distilles alcohol. Taste : the mix of cereal is obvious. Part rye, part bourbon in the taste. Bold taste of wood, spices and caramel. Finish: Soft, but spicy Considering it’s only 25$ in Canada, don’t wait!25.0 CAD per BottleSAQ

Nose : Notes of vanilla and almonds Taste : Pretty fruity, but with notes of almonds again, and also wood. Finish : the Finish is pretty long and fruity, but a note of spice (ginger I would say) sparks out. Overall : reminds me of a Glenmorangie 10, but with notes of almonds and spices.
