The nose really draws you in, caramel, spicey rye and bazooka joe bubble gum. The palate hits completely different than the nose though, quite hot, fairly dry and herbal. The heat goes down during the finish and I get oak and leather as it dissapates. You definitely feel the higher ABV on this, and while a little water tones down the heat, I didn't find that it brought out the flavours any further. Definitely interesting but not really my cup of tea when it comes to rye.

Nose is sweet, sticky cinnamon buns. Palate is sweet, caramel apple, and a bit of baking spice. Finish is very smooth, more caramel and some dried fruits. Lasts for a while. This is far superior to the 12, and one of the nicer drams I've had in a while. If you enjoy bourbon and cognac like I do, you'll love this.

It's a rare thing when something actually lives up to the hype. The nose reminded me of other peated malts I've tried already, maybe a little smokier and more iodine. To be honest not necessarily that inviting. The minute this hit my palate though it was fireworks. Sweet and smooth, salty and oily, smokey and somehow also fruity. The finish brings just a little heat, and then a lingering campfire, ocean mist. To me this is more complex and refined as a 10 year than much older offerings I've had.

El Jimador Reposado Tequila
Tequila Reposado — Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed August 1, 2023Sweet and vanilla on the nose, along with the classic agave. Palate is sweet and light, this stuff is immensely sippable. Finish is short but sweet. I can't believe this bottle was only $30. I'm a total tequila newbie but this is the best I've tasted so far. -
Strong alcohol on the nose, hints of caramel and raisin. Somewhat bitter and hot on the palate, but the caramel is still there with the tiniest bit of tropical fruit. The finish is quick but the bitterness dissipates and you're left with a bland sweetness. Thought I would try it neat, and it's not terrible, but really is dying to be mixed into a Cuba Libre.
