Bushmills 10 Year Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed August 29, 2023 (edited November 28, 2023)Very fruity nose, apple and banana. Smells like a snack I would make for my 2 year old son. The fruits continue on the palate. Soft mouthfeel, no burn. Very sweet with honey and vanilla as well. Medium finish which is still sweet and very smooth. Banana cream pie. This is dessert in a dram and not in a bad way at all. This is the type of whiskey you lose your virginity to. Probably in more ways than one for many folks in Belfast. -
Appleton Estate 12 Year Rare Casks
Aged Rum — Jamaica
Reviewed August 27, 2023 (edited September 6, 2024)Strong vanilla and molasses nose. Definitely brings back memories of all of the Appleton Estate I drank in my younger years, but certainly more refined. Oily mouthfeel, and less sweet than I was expecting, which is nice for a change. Leather and tobacco and a little but of allspice. The sweetness returns in the finish with caramel, mango and spice. Medium length. All in all this is very solid. When you need a change from the sweetness of Zacapa or El Dorado, this is the perfect option. Can't wait to try it in a few cocktails.50.0 CAD per Bottle -
Fruit forward nose. Raspberry and black cherry. Smells like summer. Fruitiness continues on the palate. I get strong strawberry up front and a little bit of spicy cinnamon. Slightly buttery texture. Finish is fairly short but you're left with strawberry shortcake and vanilla cream. This is ridiculously good and I honestly feel like it benfits from the lack of oak aging in bringing out those delicious fruit flavours. That said, i cant wait to hopefully try the Cordon Bleu at some point.

Highland Park 12 Year Viking Honour
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed August 25, 2023 (edited October 9, 2023)Nose is understated but slightly spicy. Reminds me of dry red wine. Sweet on the palate with a velvety texture. Very slight peat to go along with honey and pepper. The finish is where this really shines. Nectarines, apricot and slightly pineapple. This is like a Speyside that spent a year on the islands and came back wearing a viking helmet made of peat. Very enjoyable. -
Sortilège Original Canadian Whisky & Maple Syrup Liqueur
Other Liqueurs — Quebec, Canada
Reviewed August 23, 2023This is my go to Canadian liqueur. You can tell the difference between whisky with actual maple syrup vs artificially flavoured crap (looking at you Crowne Royal). Basically just a nice balance of maple syrup and whisky. If you like those two things like I do, you'll love this. Add some to espresso to make a caffe coretto Canadese. You won't regret it. -
This is the first Anejo tequila that I've tried so I'm just rating this based on how much I'm enjoying it. Which is a lot. The nose is a spicy tequlia creme brulee. Starts sweet on the palate, but gets more savory as the flavours develop. The mouthfeel is buttery smooth. Caramel notes to begin, with the agave ever present. Morphs into spices like clove, allspice and black pepper. The finish is lengthy and warm. More sweetness and a bit of jalapeno. I could easily drink a whole bottle of this in one sitting if I were an idiot gringo. Well actually I am, so I probably will.

Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 21, 2023 (edited August 23, 2023)Nose is fresh baked raisin butter tarts. Velvety smooth texture on the palate. Slightly sour initially but then the flavours start coming. Caramel, oak and something I can only describe as the aroma of a musty wine cellar. Long, warm finish, which is where the fruit really comes through. Starts with grapes, cherries and finishes with crisp apple. I've seen mixed reviews for this and can see how it's not for everyone. Personally I really dig it though. Tastes like something my old Italian uncle who makes his own wine and prosciutto would drink.71.0 CAD per Bottle -
Was the only Scotch available at the wedding I just attended so thought I'd try it on the rocks. It was enjoyable over ice. The peat came through and it was really smooth. I ended up having another one, and while I don't see myself buying a bottle, it's nice to know it's not terrible when you don't have many other options. Good show Johnnie.

I'm honoured to be the first to be able to review this amazing whisky here. Fruit-forward nose. Cherries, raisins, and sherry. Like being in an orchard or vinyard. The fruits continue on the palate like a fine cognac. It's a little bit spicy and there is some heat from the alcohol. The finish is long and you really taste the sherry and oak. Apparently it's only aged a little over 3 years which is mind-blowing considering the amount of flavour this packs. Easily the best Canadian Whisky I've tried so far. If you can find this, buy it.125.0 CAD per Bottle

Vanilla and ethanol on the nose, reminds me of a young rum. Sweet, fruity and a bit watery on the palate. Definitely smoother than the smell would seem to indicate. There is a bit of warm spice and brown sugar on the finish. Again, if i was tasting this completely blind, I might think I was drinking a gold rum. As everyone else has mentioned, this stuff is very easy drinking. This would be perfect for a weekend camping trip.
