Better with water. Just sampled. Water brings up some of the apple fruit notes and sweetness. I get the spice lingering with some cinnamon. Certainly smoky and peaty. A dry but sweet licorice finish after the spice and cinnamon fades.

Loving how different this is from your standard bourbon. Got a char and sweetness that works well together.

Nose has a bit of a bite, dried oak, vanilla. Initial taste was quick sweet green apple. Almost green jolly rancher followed by a lot of spice, some bitter orange peel, and then a drying finish with some toasty-ness (barrel char) and leather.

I took part in the home kit blending. Very close to my own favorite mash bill I created, it is very good. It's an easy sipper, not overly complex. A little pricey for the age and abv. But worth a try.

Nose is sweet, peaty, light smoke. Taste is sweet and smokey on arrival, mellows to a sort of caramel/toffee sweetness with a honey/lemon lozenge note more toward a finish is a little gingery as well. There is an oaky, smoke after taste as well.

Sweet, metallic, leather on the nose. Taste is maple, brown sugar, dry red wine finish
