Glencadam 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 13, 2017 (edited December 18, 2017)Light, grassy, a bit sweet. @brent got it right in our blind tasting. Great budget buy, but not something I’d seek out. -
Hancock's President's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 1, 2017 (edited October 21, 2024)Certainly reminiscent of Blanton's, I agree with what others are saying. Nice price point compared to similar bourbons. Really nice classic viscous, vanilla, caramel notes. -
Glenfiddich 14 Year Bourbon Barrel Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 4, 2017 (edited September 7, 2019)I’ve had this several times before but for some reason never wrote a review. I get apples and caramel on the nose, along with maple syrup. Tastes like I’m biting into a nice fluffy berry muffin. The bourbon influence is really nicely balanced here, and being a huge bourbon fan, I’m really enjoying this. This one is weird but after chewing on it for a bit trying to pinpoint the familiar taste I was experiencing, my mind flashed back to being a kid eating cookie dough off of a spoon. I love how whiskey can do that. Not my favorite thing ever, but really nice, pleasant, and somehow comforting. Will keep this one in the collection from now on! -
