Glenfiddich 15 Year Solera Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed May 2, 2016 (edited May 14, 2016)Nice peat and sweet, rich sherry flavors with a bit of vanilla. Not overly complex and Auchentoshan triple wood is a better dram. -
Jefferson's Chef's Collaboration
Blended American Whiskey — USA
Reviewed April 26, 2016 (edited April 24, 2018)Fruity nose without burn. Spicy start to the palate, but fruit and good sweetness develop as it swirls around your sinuses. The alcohol burn eases as it opens and it becomes more complex, with raisins and honey coming to the party. Finishes with some leathery bitterness that makes you want the next sip. -
BenRiach Curiositas 10 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed April 19, 2016 (edited May 14, 2016)Nice smoke and sweetness on the nose, slick and rich palate, round and dark fruity. Short finish with just a touch of burn and smoke. -
Bernheim 7 Year Original Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 31, 2016 (edited June 2, 2016)Sweet and hot but still goes down easy. Coats the mouth with a nice honey finish. A bit of pineapple and caramel on the nose. -
Russell's Reserve 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 25, 2016 (edited May 14, 2016)Harper and Williams single are both better. Not a bad whiskey by any means, just doesn't measure up to the others for the price point. Drink with an ice cube. A nice sweet fruitiness. -
Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 19, 2016 (edited May 14, 2016)Very solid bourbon for the price. Lots of orange flavor and goes down way too easy, an easy go to for parties. -
Green Spot Single Pot Still
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed March 18, 2016 (edited January 26, 2019)Good neat or with ice. Smooth, sweet, buttery, caramelly, full and rich yet light. A bit of fruit balances it nicely. Short finish.
