Like Dickel Rye on steroids. N: You know from the noise what you're getting into. Rich, robust, fresh rye, salt and some caramel in the background. P: Wonderfui mouthfeel. Rye bread, black pepper, fresh hay, charred oak, no fruit or sweetness to speak of, as far as I can detect. F: goes on and on. Much smoother than you'd think possible for such a spicy dram. I'm going to need to keep this in stock...

Amrut Fusion Indian Single Malt Whisky
Single Malt — Bangalore, India
Reviewed June 4, 2015 (edited August 28, 2015)Bottled 2012-04. N: light peat, honey, heather, a bit astringent. P: strong, still light peat and bitter honey, spices like clove and ginger. F: bitter, cocoa and ash. It's young for sure, but I don't there are many other whiskies with a profile like this (that I've tasted). Drink Distiller's flavour profile says "fruity & sweet," but that doesn't match the dram in front of me in any way. -
