Bunnahabhain 12 Year Cask Strength (2023 Edition)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 3, 2024Nose: salted caramel, toffee and nougat. Palate: underripe banana, more salted caramel and toffee, spicy cinnamon bark, peanut brittle, rum raisin bread pudding. Finish: Long with more of the same dessert notes, doughy cinnamon rolls, and underripe banana. Even at cask strength it’s still very drinkable and quite enjoyable. I’m not usually a fan of cask strength sherry bombs, but this one is magnificent. The salty notes help taper the sweetness of the sherry, making this a very well balanced dram.84.99 USD per Bottle -
Somehow less smoky and medicinal than the regular (43%) 10 year. New rubber and salmiakki notes, sour green apple, with some nice chocolate covered pretzels. With water added it becomes more familiar with notes of iodine, bandaids and antiseptic. Still quite different than the non CS version that we all know and love.79.0 USD per Bottle

Bombay Sapphire Gin (47%)
London Dry Gin — England
Reviewed December 8, 2023 (edited September 12, 2024)Mostly neutral, slight vegetal note, black pepper, citrus. At 47% I still prefer this over the now downgraded 44% Beefeater for most cocktails. One thing to note, Beefeater has much more juniper punch, so if that’s what you’re after, go with the beefy boy.25.0 USD per Bottle
