Bunnahabhain 12 Year Cask Strength (2023 Edition)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 3, 2024 (edited May 3, 2025)Nose: salted caramel, toffee, overripe berries, nougat. Palate: More salted caramel and toffee, soft pretzel, spicy cinnamon bark, peanut brittle, underripe banana, rum raisin bread pudding. Finish: Long with more of the same dessert notes, chocolate, doughy cinnamon rolls, and underripe banana. Even at cask strength it’s still very drinkable and quite enjoyable. I’m not usually a fan of cask strength sherry bombs, but this one is magnificent. The salty notes help temper the sweetness of the sherry, making this a very well balanced dram.84.99 USD per Bottle -
Somehow less smoky and medicinal than the regular (43%) 10 year. New rubber and salmiakki notes, sour green apple, with some nice chocolate covered pretzels. With water added it becomes more familiar with notes of iodine, bandaids and antiseptic. Still quite different than the non CS version that we all know and love.79.0 USD per Bottle

Rabbit Hole Boxergrail Kentucky Straight Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 31, 2024 (edited August 16, 2025)Youthful grassiness with loads of citrus and herbaceous notes. Green peppercorns. A little earthy. Definitely a tasty rye that I find myself coming back to every now and then.
