The fragrance is very different. Not dominated by juniper. Has a citrus, hibiscus, earthy fragrance. There is also a slight ketone (sweet alcohol) smell. The taste is super complex. Every sip revealed a different flavor note. It does finish bitter, dry, astringent. Not in a bad way just unique. I liked sipping it but expect it would be fun to mix with sweet vermouth. Not sure how it would do in a dry martini. Might be too dry for this.

Reviewed August 7, 2022 (edited September 4, 2022)Fresh lightly Smokey nose. Very light butterscotch. Young and a bit hot pallet. Which was good but certainly not for new whiskey drinkers. Looking forward to trying their more aged options.Manchester -

Boston Harbor "Spirit of Boston" Merry Maker Gingerbread Stout
Flavored Whiskey — Massachusetts, USA
Reviewed January 29, 2022I agree with others that it is young. But I think that’s the point. Really interesting nose. Does have that Christmas baking spice fragrance. Nutmeg, cinnamon etc. I got it as part of a tasting set and I’m glad I did. Wouldn’t want a whole bottle. Might be really good as part of a holiday mixed drink. Almost like a spiced rum but with all the boldness of a whiskey.
