$80 Maryland Farms barrel pick I got a nose of oak, fruit, and cinnamon spice. Really smooth going down with the same notes on the palate. A really good bottle but doesn't stand out from any others especially at this price point. Wouldn't get another bottle but this is a good one for the collection. Definitely the best maker's I've had.

$80 Easily one of my favorites. Nose of vanilla, oak, caramel, hints of cinnamon spice. Tastes phenomenal, smooth with no bite, notes of oak and nuts . On the palate. A little bit of sweetness on the finish that lingers. Reminds of walking around old barns in the country side with the wife. Easily one of my favorites. Go buy a bottle!

WhistlePig Old World Cask Finish Rye 12 Year
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Vermont), USA
Reviewed December 11, 2017$130 Sweet and floral and fruit notes on the nose, quite pleasant. Just the right amount of spice if you're not looking for a lot. Actually tastes a little like some scotches I have so it has hints of smoke and peat on the palate along with raisins. At least that's what I got from my bottle even though I'm not sure how that's possible. Finish is real nice and you get those port wine in there for a good bit. Good drink especially if you like scotch IMO, but not my favorite. -
Black Maple Hill Limited Edition Purple Label
Bourbon — Oregon, USA
Reviewed December 8, 2017 (edited February 20, 2019)$80 I really enjoyed this bourbon. Nose of maple syrup, cedar and oak. Smooth and a little sweet on the palate too. Like burnt brown sugar. Reminds of sitting by the campfire which I'm doing right now sipping this bourbon :) definitely a good buy for me and if you're looking for something unique. I would buy another bottle for sure, not sure why it's not rated higher by others. -
Stagg Jr Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch 1
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 8, 2017 (edited January 1, 2018)$80 - 130 proof. Sweet sugar and spice on the nose. Careful though if you keep your nose in there too long you'll get that burn of alcohol. This is 130 proof after all. On the palate it's real hot right away on your tongue but goes down much smoother which I don't understand but I'm digging it. Nice finish again with that sugar and spice. This takes me back to a cold night by the fire before a hunting trip. Everything in this bottle compliments each other and you don't need much to warm yourself up! Definitely buy one if you can! -
1792 Full Proof Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 6, 2017 (edited December 15, 2017)$50 McScrooges pick Fruit, oak, and nutty nose. Sweet and smells like freshly cut pears. I think it’s really smooth for 125 proof. Oak, nutty, and spicy on the palate with a little burn on the finish to remind ya of the alcohol content. Definitely a good buy IMO. -
William Larue Weller Bourbon (Fall 2016)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 4, 2017 (edited July 15, 2018)$25 one-ounce pour Wow, the nose hit hard with brown sugar, and sweet cherry notes. If I thought the nose hit hard it tastes like I got hit by a truck. Really bold and robust on the palate. spicy, oak, nutty, cherry notes with a little of that sweet brown sugar. Finish definitely had that nice warm burn to it. Definitely worth it -
$25 one-ounce pour Brown sugar, vanilla, and oak notes on the nose. Was a bit hot going down and tasted like I was eating a handful of fruity candy. Finish was decent and a little spicy. Overall I really liked the nose and the taste was unique. The finish was ok. Worth getting 1 bottle at retail but definitely not the secondary prices. I'd get one for the collection but probably not a second bottle.

WhistlePig The Boss Hog III: The Independent
Rye — (bottled in) Vermont, Canada
Reviewed December 3, 2017 (edited November 25, 2018)$300 Notes of oak and vanilla on the nose, slightly sweet and spicy. Tastes great and good down smooth. Really get this burnt brown sugar with a little mint on the palate. Hints of scotch as well . Has a little peat and smoky taste but not overbearing like certain scotch. Nice long finish of spices. Really smooth for being 120 proof. Overall superb whisky but not as good as the black prince 4th edition :)
