Extraordinarily peaty on the nose with some iodine hints. Peat not as pronounced as one would expect on the oily oak palate but it comes screaming forward on the finish with a really unexpected and, to my tastes, exquisite sweet fruit compote addition. Lingers for what seems like minutes with peat tones. I swear I still have hints of this after hours. Love it.

Barterhouse 20 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 13, 2015 (edited January 26, 2015)I know the Orphan Barrel crew has been slammed for the marketing practices they have employed - but, in the end, it's all about what's in the bottle. This is a very very nice bourbon. Nice toffee and oak nose, lots of caramel and vanilla on the palate and touch of rye on the finish. I highly recommend it.
