Very harsh for the price. Is it the worst I’ve had? Probably not. Would I pay $25 for this? No. It sells for $69.99 in Ohio. I poured out my drink after 3-4 sips.

Absolute pleasure. Sweet to near perfection with deep wood flavors. Incredibly smooth. Just so well done.

Extremely easy to drink. Delicious and smooth as silk. Only gripe is the lack of intense flavor. If what you’re looking for is intensity this is not your bourbon. If what you’re looking for is pleasant smooth sipping, this is a 5 star bourbon. Perfect entry into bourbon for a beginner.

Absolutely fantastic for an entry level bourbon at entry level prices. Easy sipping given it’s price category. Not worth hunting down. On the sweeter side. Biggest flavor complaint is it does not have much of a range of flavor and has a decently high bite given other offerings by Buffalo Trace.

Sweet fruit bomb from the wheat in the mash bill. Highly enjoyable. The step up in quality between this and Weller Special Reserve is night and day. In places where Weller is hard to find, skip SR in your pursuit and only go for Antique.

Solid sipper. Hard to argue with it’s easy drinking and pleasantness. Only complaint would be not much depth to the flavors. Definitively not worth the $100 plus secondary prices. Definitely a must try given it’s fame and important place in the revival of the bourbon industry.

Not the worst tasting I’ve ever had but far too astringent given it’s hype. It tastes like a $25 bottle of liquor and I mean that as neither an insult nor a compliment. Weller Antique is a treat. Weller Special Reserve may be best left for cocktails.

As a newish bourbon drinker I wanted my first review to be for my first true love in bourbon. Eagle Rare is an absolute joy. Burnt sugar balanced with wood earth. Even better given it’s MSRP.
