Mina Real Mezcal Silver
Mezcal Joven — Oaxaca, Mexico
Reviewed September 27, 2017 (edited September 4, 2018)Smokey, bright vanilla on the nose. Smoother, with light earthy soil tones on the palette. Citrus is well in the background. Sweet. One of my favorite finishes on a mezcal: a decrescendo that doesn't overstay it's welcome. I suspect a bourbon or whiskey drinker could also appreciate this. Recommended either way. -

Plantation Pineapple Stiggins' Fancy Rum
Flavored Rum — Multiple Countries
Reviewed November 29, 2016 (edited May 27, 2020)The pineapple flavor is up front and center, with the dark and spicy attributes playing a secondary role. Not as balanced as I would have hoped on its own, but it is an enjoyable rum to mix. -
Del Maguey Chichicapa Mezcal
Mezcal Joven — Oaxaca, Mexico
Reviewed November 29, 2016 (edited December 14, 2017)Fantastic mezcal to sip on. Paired well with tacos at a restaurant where I first had it. Well balanced between smoke, sweet, and a touch of citrus.
