Willett Pot Still Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 26, 2015 (edited January 2, 2016)Very reminiscent of their rye if you take away most of the spice but some sticks around. The sweetness of the corn present but strangely fleeting. Smoke oaky flavor come in to play. The finish has more of the oak with some more spice and an oily texture. Overall mild in flavor but still very pleasant. -
Forged Oak 15 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed May 15, 2015 (edited November 26, 2015)Sweet nose, strong tasting notes of butterscotch, vanilla, caramel. A little floral on the palate. Adding some water or an ice cube does wonders to bring out the favors and cool down the bite and bring out a more bolder, oaky, richer body. Not a smooth as I'd expect from something with this age statement but it still reminds me of an older Weller 12 year. -
John J Bowman Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Virginia, USA
Reviewed May 12, 2015 (edited April 24, 2018)Nice overall flavor with sweet, caramel and vanilla notes and the quintessential bourbon spice. The flavor carries nicely through the palate and into the finish with a slight but significant burn that comes with any 100% whiskey but I believe it helps the flavor out.
