Larceny Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 25, 2015 (edited April 24, 2018)First thing I notice is a sharp sweetness with a little bit of vanilla and cinnamon but lacking a large robust flavor I was expecting. I get a little of the banana bread flavor the review was talking about but largely over powered by the sweetness. Maybe a little coconut on the finish. Regardless, it's extremely drinkable both neat and on ice and a great value at the price. -
Hudson Baby Bourbon (DISCONTINUED)
Bourbon — New York, USA
Reviewed April 20, 2015 (edited October 16, 2015)100% corn does give it a nice sweet complexion and the palate is surprisingly smooth considering its age but I feel it lacks complexity. Hard to argue it's worth what it costs. The whole gimmick of them using smaller barrels to age it faster doesn't do it for me. Truthfully it's just ok, and for what it costs it should be better than "ok" -
Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey (Discontinued)
American Single Malt — Colorado, USA
Reviewed April 18, 2015 -
Oh so peaty in just the right way. Many of the reviews use the term "campfire" which is a pretty accurate summary. The smokey of the peat lingers and becomes almost an ash taste with a little bit of sweet and herbs on the follow through with some slight notes of lemon and vaguely chocolate. Love the oily , iodine feel. Bought it as part of a gift set with samples of Uigeadail and Corryvreckan. Highly recommended.

James E. Pepper 1776 Straight Bourbon (100 Proof) Beige Label
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Kentucky), USA
Reviewed April 6, 2015 (edited December 5, 2017)The first thing I notice is the spice, lots of spice. Prominent notes of vanilla, cinnamon followed by heat. Though the more i have the sweeter it becomes. It's exactly as "raw and aggressive" as the review would lead you to believe. Not exactly my taste I'll admit since i prefer something smoother that comes with an age statement. Glad i happen to try it but i won't be buying a bottle. -
Green Spot Single Pot Still
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed March 28, 2015 (edited April 24, 2018)Mild scent on the nose, light as well in palate with sweet, vanilla, some herbs light oily texture and a smooth finish, some fruity overall very reserved in flavor but well done -
Very mild in flavor when I compare it to other ryes I've had before. I still get the vanilla, spice, herbs and sweet but I feel as if the volume is muted. Similar to the way Glenlivet 12 tastes in comparison to its Macallan counterpart. Overall still a great rye suitable for drinking neat but won't be insulted by being mixed in a Manhattan or an old fashioned.

Glenlivet 12 Year Double Oak
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed March 25, 2015 (edited August 13, 2017)It doesn't have a lot of flavor but it isn't bad either, pretty middle of the road but still a solid anytime choice. Just don't expect to get your socks knocked off. Good for entry level -
High West American Prairie Bourbon
