Fortunate enough to try in a Nashville bar where it was both plentiful and affordable. Didn't know what to expect but i was pleasantly surprised. It's certainly less mature then it's older brothers but despite its relative youth it's delightfully smooth. Nose of vanilla, caramel and some herbs with a palate reflective of the same notes plus some light oak. I love both the 15 and 20 year vintages but this one is somehow almost preferable to their robust flavors, huh, I'll have to find a bottle for my collection

Sad to say I was unable to drink it without water but after adding a fare amount I could give this juice it's deserved justice. Old leather almost dusty in flavor with notes of salted chocolate and oak. I have trouble getting most of the fruit notes. I may be rusty but i was not impressed at first but it grew on me as I had more.

Laphroaig Triple Wood
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed September 30, 2015 (edited August 13, 2017)The nose is a bit less smokey and a little more sweet than their basic 10 year. The taste is more tame as well with some of the similar medicinal notes of iodine but sweeter notes come out with some fruit and what might be caramel from the bourbon casks. I'm always a big fan of the peat and while this one isn't as peaty as some of its cousins from other distilleries the complex nature of the palate and overall mellow feel make this one a new favorite. -
