Four Roses Yellow Label Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 27, 2017 (edited December 17, 2017)On the nose, light spice, vanilla and corn. On the tongue, pretty much the same. Very smooth, but too mild-mannered for me. There are no stand-out flavors here... but then again, maybe that's the point. I get the feeling this was made to appeal to a broad audience. Overall, a smooth and inoffensive bourbon. If you've tried Yellow Label's cousins - Small Batch or Single Barrel - you can tastes hints of them way down in the background. 2 stars overall due to the lack of any real personality, but 5 stars in the under $20 category. -
Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 22, 2017 (edited November 28, 2017)Sweet caramel. Creamy vanilla. Brown sugar. Oak and cherry linger in the background. A warm spice swirls nicely with the creamy goodness. Everything a good bourbon should be, at a great price ($35 around me). Barrel #US 72-46 -
Bunnahabhain 12 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 19, 2017 (edited November 27, 2017)Strong heat on the nose that dominates. The heat persists on the tongue, distracting you from the notes of butterscotch, vanilla, oak, and a bit of sherry in the background. Average finish. -

Reviewed November 11, 2017 (edited November 13, 2017)Light peat and smoke on the nose. Not much else. Same on the tongue. Short finish. Unimpressive. -
Balvenie Single Barrel 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 9, 2017 (edited November 13, 2017)Silky smooth, oaky vanilla. Mild spice. Not overly complex, but what it does, it does well.
