The Nose: first dark cherry, then cherry cough syrup think robitusson, mile peat smoke which comes across as overly roasted nuts The Pallete: Dark fruits as in cherry and plum, overly smoked/ roasted nuts, The Finish: short somewhat dry, fruity medicinal note, with a gingery bit of saltiness Overall it lacks some complexity and its alittle rough around the edges but it is still very easy sipper. This would be a great gateway scotch into islay.

The Nose: overwhelming sweet red wine, after spending some time with it fresh cut grapefruit, and dark red grapes The Pallet: slightly bitter and alcohol forward, delicate floral notes, butter, and some earthy notes. It feels very oily and creamy The finish: slightly bitter lemon zest, and earth notes, medium length finish My first experience with this blender and I hope to try more of their blends. unfortunately this one just isn't in my wheelhouse. It's good and I would definitely take it over your usual blended scotches.

Shieldaig Highland Single Malt
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 22, 2019 (edited August 27, 2019)The nose: salt water, medicinal peat, faint pair, and on the revisit I get a strong burnt butterscotch The palete: medicinal peat, briney saltwater The finish: very short, burnt butterscotch but not sweet overall it's very apparent this is a very young scotch. Its flavors are thin and it has a bite but it's definitely not boring. For the money this is excellent it will definitely be a staple -
The nose: rich fudgey sweetness, honey The pallete: more rich sweetness, thick honey sweetness like syrup, a slight medicinal note, light citrus the finish: sweet, medium length and leaves you longing for more Overall this is a fine dram, it's like desert in a glass, and one of the most memorable scotches I've had.

The nose: floral, vanilla candy sweetness, and maybe the most odd note I've smelled in scotch... unripened melon The pallete: very light, earthy, hay, the palate tastes like a hay barn smells The finish: light, short, and iodine. Not like Islay iodine, very faint. Overall, this is the friendliest easy to drink scotch on my bar. I didn't have high hopes going into this tasting but it far surpasses some of my other easy drinkers. This one is going to stick around for awhile.

The nose: floral heather, honey sweetness The pallete: cherries think fresh and sour, a bland nut flavor, maybe unsalted raw cashews, honey sweetness The finish: medium to medium long finish, alittle spicy for what I like, salty and briney. Overall it's ok, this a decent background Scotch, or an occasional pour when you just want an easy drinker. I will say this is a pour where the nose doesnt give you any clues about the taste. They are two different animals and I like that!
