Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon 9 Year (2019 Limited Edition)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 23, 2020 (edited March 4, 2021)This LE has amped up spicy, pepper notes with an oily texture. The sweetness is low and the light vanilla is washed out by baking spices. -
Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in No. 3 Char Wine Casks (2018 Limited Edition)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 23, 2020My second favorite Limited Edition after the 2017. The wine barrel notes on this still give it rounded, berry tones yet the spice is amped likely from the increased char. Very nicely done. -
Rieger's Kansas City Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Indiana (bottled in Missouri), USA
Reviewed September 3, 2020🎶Everything’s up to date in Kansas City... It’s not bad but also not something I would seek out. It has a definite butterscotch note going on. -
Heaven Hill White Label (80 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 3, 2020 (edited December 20, 2021)About what you expect from a $12-15 80proof bottle. It’s good but not great but certainly far from bad. It would make a great after work double-dram. -
John J Bowman Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Virginia, USA
Reviewed September 3, 2020 (edited September 15, 2020)Can’t lie, not great. It started with an oak nose that quickly dissipated. The flavor notes were thin, sweet and butterscotch finish. That is all. -
Templeton Rye Maple Cask Finish
Rye — Indiana (Bottled in Iowa), USA
Reviewed September 3, 2020 (edited June 23, 2021)A light hard candy nose, slick mouthfeel, mild sweetness and just the right spice to the finish. -
Oak & Eden Rye & Spire - Charred Oak
Rye — (bottled in) Texas, USA
Reviewed August 31, 2020 (edited March 2, 2022)2nd O&E expression: Again this isn’t a bad offering it is just light. The minty/herbal Rye nose is present but is muted. The mouthfeel is also a bit thinner but this is a fine whiskey if offered to you or if received as a gift - I just wouldn’t seek it out.
