Oak & Eden Bourbon & Spire -Toasted Oak
Bourbon — (bottled in) Texas, USA
Reviewed August 31, 2020 (edited March 2, 2022)1st O&E expression: So this really isn’t bad. The nose has a lightly sweet, toasted marshmallow aroma and with a few drops of water it leans more to oak. The mouthfeel is nice and moderately creamy with a flavor more towards caramel and light oak. This is tasty but it’s no OF 1910! -
Knob Creek 15 Year Bourbon (2020 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 11, 2020 (edited August 28, 2020)I find all the notes the expert reviewer gives. This has an oak infused sweetness along with spice and dryness in the middle. The finish lingers and lends to a touch of tang & smoke. -
It’s good but not great. In the realm of Double oak bourbons it falls well below Woodford, OF and the like but for its price it isn’t bad. It has a nose of vanilla mingled with young oak & smoke. The flavor brings back the smoke with some nuttiness and a semi-sweet butterscotch. I’ll actually take Black over this.

I found this 1792 offering to be an expanded and noticeably seasoned upgrade from some of the younger expressions. This is a full, rich & creamy experience. The nose mixes baking spice, vanilla & toasted almond. The flavors to me are salted caramel & big creme brûlée’s. The finish is nice & pleasant. This would be an excellent frequent dram if more readily available.

Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Charred Wine Casks (2017 Limited Edition)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 1, 2020Absolutely loved this Limited Edition. The wine barrel notes really gave it a well rounded, red fruit & berry tone without being too sweet. It had some vanilla undercurrent with plenty of baking spice to boot. Very nicely done.
