A very approachable pour to someone new to Bourbon or who likes a tamer dram. It is very light, soft and sweet due to the wheat character and hints of Rye notes all wrapped in a unique hybrid grain. The aromas and flavors meld together nicely. It is a good whiskey but won’t be repeated as it’s a Washington exclusive.

Willett Family Estate Small Batch Rye 4 Year
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 15, 2019 (edited November 17, 2019)One of the best Ryes I’ve had. This nose begins with mint, cinnamon-sugar and some barrel char. The mouthfeel is silky smooth and the palette is chocolate, Rye and spice with a long finish. -
Belle Meade Cask Strength Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed October 15, 2019 (edited December 5, 2019)Such a solid Bourbon Nose & Palate present with a caramel & vanilla sweetness but the flavor quickly turns to tart cherry balls & spice. Finish is hearty & round with a touch of heat & spice -
One of my favorite Bourbons for the money. This expression is loaded with big aromas & flavors. The nose has big barrel spice and vanilla with a noticeable heat to it. The palette follows with char and oak but is rounded out by vanilla and brown sugar. The additional spice lingers long into the finish.

New Riff Kentucky Straight Bourbon Bottled In Bond
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 14, 2019Though clearly a 4-yr BiB Bourbon it has a very young taste profile. Really bright new oak notes and a medicinal/acetone burn in the nose and into the finish. Would not purchase again. -
Jim Beam Bonded Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 19, 2019 (edited November 3, 2019)This is a pretty good yet fairly inexpensive Bottled in Bond expression. There are a few cheaper but this is on par with most. This can easily be enjoyed neat or in a cocktail with no worries. Would like to do blind next to Black for comparison as well as other Bonded.
