Parker's Heritage Promise of Hope
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 19, 2014 (edited December 8, 2014)I love the cinnamon that comes with the first sip. It then opens up with a depth of cloves, nutmeg, and vanilla, followed by a medium-heat finish that's a little surprising coming for a 96-proof whiskey. Very different than the 6th edition. A great bottle for the collection. -
Bulleit 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 12, 2014 (edited February 8, 2015)Really nice nose, full of classic bourbon notes. Easy to drink, with a light finish. I'd serve this to new whiskey drinkers. I don't mean that as an insult at all. Very good. -
Angel's Envy Rye Finished in Caribbean Rum Casks
Rye — USA
Reviewed August 20, 2014 (edited November 26, 2014)What an odd (in a good way) rye. While spending a few days on the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky, this was the most interesting drink from the trip. The rum barrels add a fruitiness that's completely unique to this bottle. Dark fruits on the start and finish, with the spicy grain we all know and love with ryes in between. A must-try for whiskey lovers.
