    Haven’t had many Scotch whiskeys, but this one is now my favorite. Could really only pick out the sea salt, coffee and tobacco notes, but there’s a lot more going on. Really complex flavor and nose.

    Definitely get the maple syrup on the nose. The flavor is sweet, but not overly. You get a little maple syrup on the front of the taste and a little bit of spice on the backend. Also a bit of vanilla in the aftertaste. Not an everyday sipper, but a nice change of pace whiskey.

    A bit to wheated for my liking. Has a slight smell of wheat and the overwhelming flavor is straw with a hit of cough medicine. There’s other very slight flavors there, but straw is the dominant one.

    So far my favorite Irish whiskey. Nice balance of fruit and spice. Palate reminds me of fruitcake without actually tasting like that vile dessert bread. Rich and smooth flavor that long lasting.

    A really nice “change of pace” specialty whiskey. Sweet fruit notes and enough of a spicy note to balance out. Flavor is rich, but not intense or long lived. The port wine essence is there without covering up the rye flavor.

    Generally not a big fan of blended whiskey, but this one is really good. Fairly sweet and fruity, almost to the point of being overpowering and pushing the other flavors out. However you get just enough spice flavors to cut the sweetness and give it a bit of balance.

    Has a very spicy bite to it and virtually no floral or sweetness to it. Has a very oily feel to it that last quite awhile. Not really a sipping whiskey, but pairs well with citrus mixes.
